Community Transport Scheme

We need your help!

What do we do and why it’s important:

Here at Droitwich CVS, we run an invaluable community transport scheme that wouldn’t be possible without the help of our volunteers. There is a desperate need for transportation in our community.

Our team of driver volunteers help residents access necessary resources and services such as doctors, dentists, shopping, seeing family and attending social clubs.

All of this is crucial to help maintain our community’s connections, build individuals’ confidence and avoid isolation.

Our drivers provide incredible service by offering their time and companionship by chatting and forming trusting relationships.

What you’ll get:

  • You’ll make a difference to others
  • You’ll help your community
  • All Training is provided
  • Mileage reimbursement provided
  • We sort the scheduling, so this allows for great flexibility
  • Warm, friendly, appreciative clients
  • The camaraderie of fellow volunteers
  • New friendships

Dont believe us? Ask our drivers!

Mike: “I moved to Droitwich in 2013 following retirement from the Civil Service. I needed an activity to motivate me and to get to know my new surroundings. I saw the DCVS stand at a festival in Vines Park, they wanted new drivers and it went from there. I do it purely for the friendships established with the staff and clients, many of whom, our transport is their only escape from their four walls. As a volunteer I do it unpaid, which I believe is very important, it costs me nothing but my time. This means our service is affordable to everyone.”
